Admission to IIT Delhi is possible through various entrance examinations, like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE),Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), Common Admission Test (CAT) and Joint Admission Test in M.Sc. (JAM), for its various degrees and disciplines.

Entrance Exams

JEE

The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) is a common admission test for students seeking admissionto undergraduate programmes of all IITs and ISM Dhanbad. To be eligible to write JEE (Advanced), the candidates have to first appear in the JEE (Main) conducted by JEE Apex Board, in the month of April. JEE(Advanced) is conducted by IITs in the month of June. Only the top 1,50,000 scorers in JEE (Main), which includes students from all categories (GE, OBC (NCL), SC, ST and PD) will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced). The JEE (Advanced) will have two objective type papers. Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Duration of each paper will be 3-hours. Question papers will be in both English and Hindi.

GATE

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India Examination conducted by all the IITs and IISc to identify meritorious and motivated candidates for admission to Post-graduate programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy at National level.Information relating to GATE will be available through the announcements link and the GATE Brochure.

JAM

The Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is an all India examination conducted to provide admissions to various M. Sc. (Two Year) / M. Sc.-Ph. D. Dual Degree and other post-B. Sc. programmes based on the performance in a single test and consolidate ‘Science’ as a career option for bright students from across the country.
