INTRODUCTION

The University Commerce College is one of the biggest colleges of Rajasthan University having more than 5,000 students on roll. The University Grants Commission has recognized the College as “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)” in the year 2011.

Apart from traditional courses like B.Com. Pass and B.Com. Hons., the College has gained prominence in recent years in running professional courses like BBA, BCA and and B.Com. (A.T.P.) also.

College has organised the All–India Commerce Conference twice, in 1977 and 1995. It also successfully organised various National & International Seminars and Conferences such as ‘Changing Perspectives in Management Education’ (2004), Globalisation and Changing Business Environment in India’ (2004), Globalisation: Myth or Reality ?’ (2005) and ” Emerging Issues in Commerce and Management” (2006). The college organized a National Seminar on “Corporate Governance and Ethical Issues in Changing Economic Scenario” in the year 2009. The college also organized two seminars, one National Seminar on “Professional Orientation of Business Education” (23 Dec. 2009) and International Seminar on “Rural Marketing.The college has successfully organised a National Seminar on MNREGA : Opportunities and challenges on 08th January 2011.

The College has two big play grounds. It also has three A.C. Computer labs, having 77 computers and two Modern labs for BCA students.

The College has a rich library with nearly 2.30 lakh books, many prestigious journals and magazines.

A large number of our students have qualified in professional examinations like Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretary, Cost Accountancy MBA & MCA courses. The achievements of the College in the field of games and sports, NSS, NCC and scouting are highly commendable. A unique feature of the college is its Career Counseling and Placement Centre which helps students in getting suitable employment in various national and internationally recognized companies. Recently, some students have been selected in reputed
Organizations. The college is planning to establish a Network Resource Centre in the forthcoming session. College has highly qualified and experienced faculty for providing quality education in Commerce, Business & ManagementandComputerSciences.

The College has hosted and organized many tournaments during the session 2012–2013
(i) Tennis–Inter College Tournament
(ii) Squash–Inter College Tournament

The students of the college participated in inter college tournaments and secured second position in swimming squash and Tennis. Some students won medals in national level inter–university tournaments The college is continuously upgrading its infrastructure in achieving excellence in commerce education in Rajasthan. The college has developed a smart class room, language lab and research facility for teachers with the help of the UGC and the University. These advanced learning centers are fully equipped with all teaching aids of advanced level such as interactive board, visualizers, multimedia projectors and LED presentation systems. These facilities are also helpful for the students of SC, ST, minorities and other less privileged sections of the society. The college has also installed an advanced security system through (CCTV) cameras and continuous power supply and backup system.

Irrespective of the stream (Arts/Science/ Commerce), a candidate must have passed 10+2 level examination with Physics/Mathematis/Business M a t h e m a t i c s P r a c t i c e s / M u l t i m e d i a & W e b Technology as one of the optional subjects with 50% or more (36% marks for SC/ST/OBC/SOBC Categories) in aggregate without any approximations.

Category B:

Irrespective of the stream (Arts/Science/Commerce) a more (36% marks SC/ST/OBC/OSBC Category) in aggregate without any approximation subject to the condition that he/she has qualified BCA Eligibility Test
