Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established in the year 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature. It is located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. The University offers UG, PG and Ph.D. programmes in Law. There are three research centres, National Scholarships facility and various other facilities in the University. Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU)
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has granted recognition to TNNLU as a Center for Legal Education. TNNLU commenced its functioning from the academic year 2013-2014. TNNLU Admission Process
Admission in TNNLU shall be based on marks obtained through the Common Law Admission Test(CLAT). Application forms for admission shall be available online at the official website. Students have to fill and submit the application form on or before the last date along with the application fee. The admissions to the UG and PG programme shall be by the scores obtained/attained in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) only.
TNNLU also provides scholarship opportunities for the students. The University has a National Scholarship Scheme for the students. Students have to register them in the National Scholarship Portal. Due to this scholarship facility, financially weak students would be able to pay the University fees. National Scholarships Portal is a one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships to Students are enabled. National Scholarships Portal is taken as Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

TNNLU Research Centres
Tamil Nadu National Law University has three research centres. The list of these research centre is given below:
- Centre for Research and Writing (CRW) – This centre was inaugurated on February 5, 2018 by Honorable Justice Rajiv Shakdher (High Court of Delhi) and Honorable Justice TS Sivagnanam (High Court of Madras).
- Centre for Competition Law (CCL) – The Centre for Competition Law (CCL) which was inaugurated on 7th February, 2018 in the presence of Honble Justice Mr. Rajiv Shakhder- High Court of Judicature at Delhi, Honble Justice Mr. T.S.Sivagnanam- High Court of Judicature at Madras.
- Centre for Labour and Development – The Centre for Labour and Development was launched on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
