The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) is a teaching and research Central University of India and it was established by an act of Indian Parliament in 2009. This University was located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. CUJ offers Under Graduate, Post graduate and Ph.D. programmes in Schools/Departments of studies. The University is open to new ideas in course curricula and research proposals, collaboration, interaction and capacity building programmes. The President of India gave assent to The Central Universities Act, 2009 that envisages establishing and incorporating universities for teaching and research in the various states. This University is affiliated by the University Grant Commission (UGC).
History of Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ)
The Central University of Jharkhand came into being under this Act on March 01, 2009. The Visitor of the Central University of Jharkhand, Her Excellency, Shrimati Pratibha Devisingh Patil, appointed Dr. Darlando T. Khathing, an internationally renowned scientist and a distinguished academic administrator, as its first Vice Chancellor.
