About DU SOL
School of Open Learning under University of Delhi is a renowned and well-known name when it comes to distance education. It was established in 1962. Earlier, DU SOL was known as The School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. The school provides admission to several bachlor and master courses in the disciplines of arts and commerce. DU SOL functions with the motto of Nishtha Dhryti: Satya. The degree of DU SOL has essentially the same value as that of an equivalent regular degree course. DU SOL also boasts of a South Study Center, located at South Moti Bagh in New Delhi.
During its first year of functioning, the school had only 900 enrolled students. However, now close to 5 lakh students study in various UG and PG courses offered by the school. DU SOL has had a number of influential people as its former students including Narendra Modi, PM of India and Smriti Irani, who is the Information and Broadcasting Minister in the Government of India.
