Delhi: February 06, 2013: The most popular annual activities among students of Delhi Technological University(DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, are back on the University campus.
Entrepreneurship Summit-2013 (E-Summit), a two day event was held on February 05-06, 2013. The event was inaugurated by Mr. H.L.Attri, Former Director, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India in the presence of Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU, among others. Dr. Rishu Chaujar, Assistant Professor of Engineering Physics is the event co-ordinator.
Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. Sharma said, We at DTU are firmly committed to nurture engineering and technology education and research excellence. Our thrust is on empowering our young budding engineers and techno-managers with the Wings of Knowledge and Power of Innovations. During the last few years we are witnessing a rise in student start-up companies being set up by our recent Graduates and this is where we take a sense of fulfilment of our dream to empower the young budding engineers with the spirit of entrepreneurship for which E-Summit is organised at DTU.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rishu Chaujar, Assistant Professor of Engineering Physics said, The E-Summit2013 at DTU is an endeavour to create new-age entrepreneurs, who besides protecting the interest of man and nature will achieve highest level of quality and productivity. We need to create euphoria of entrepreneurship for all in our country so as to manifest the rich innovative potential of our young and talented student community.
The two-day, E-Summit 2013 is an endeavour to encourage entrepreneurship among technocrats of tomorrow. The summit included leadership lectures from successful entrepreneurs as well as stalwarts of the industry including Sh. Vikram Dutt, Consultant, Author and a social worker; Sh. Sudhir Kumar, Retd.Colonel, Founder of DEF MART; Sh. Sandeep Mann, Speaker, Writer and a Legal Practitioner; Sh. Nishchal Kesarwani, Founder at Preseed; Sh. Ajay Jain, Author; Sh. Ashutosh Kumar, Executive Director at TATA Jagriti Yatra; Sh. Sreenivasan Ramakrishnan, Co-Founder of Career Launcher among others. Besides Leadership Lectures, it also had Business Plan Competition, Interactive Sessions, Innovation Fair, Panel Discussion and E-Pitching. The Panel Discussion was held on Starting Up: Straight from the horses mouth andMentoring, Incubation and Funding: Demystified among various successful techno-managers such as Sh. Kunal Nandwani, Founder, U-Trade Solutions; Sh. Paras Chopra, Founder, Wingify; Sh. Pranay Gupta, CEO, CIIE; Sh. Varun Chawla, Partner, 91 Spring Board; Sh. Ravinder Singh and Sh. Ojasvi Babbar, Amity Innovation Incubator.
