Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) was established on February 4, 1984. The University is located in Rono-Hills, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh. Formerly the university was known as Arunachal University. Rajiv Gandhi University is a leading institute of higher learning in Arunachal Pradesh. It has completed thirty-four year of its existence. In the year 2007, the university was converted into a central university under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
