Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University (VSKUB) is a State University established by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka State Universities Act 2000. VSKUB has about 100 affiliated colleges offering both undergraduate and post graduate programs. The university covers the districts of Ballari and Koppal.
The Vision of the University is Envisioning the power of mind. University endeavors to embark on innovative means of higher education in the regions it is located. It aims to provide education which sensitizes literature, languages, culture and social needs of the region, nation and the globe with focus on Enhancing Local Gross Enrollment Ratio, Encourage and emphasize on Science Education and Research and to have a vast campus for students.

VSKUB has three post graduate campuses and offers a big basket of undergraduate degree programs in addition to BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, BHM and also Post graduate degree programmes in the departmentf physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, computer science, Mineral Processing and Applied Geology, commerce, management, tourism, history, economics, political science, sociology, library sciences, social work, physical education. It also provides Hostel Facilities for Boys (SC/ST) and Girls (SC/ST, General & Working Women).
