Ankuj Gupta
Name: | Ankuj Gupta |
Course: | BE COE |
College: | NSIT |
Year: | 2010 |
Company: | ST Ericsson |
Package offered: | 5.6 lakhs per annum |
Preparations: | ST-Ericsson is a world leader in development of wireless platforms and semiconductors. More than half of all mobile phones in use today are enabled by ST-Ericssons products and technologies.
I devoted almost two months to prepare to get this dream job. |
Books Reffered: | As I wanted to revise the technical subjects, I concentrated on revising Data structure, Operating system, DBMS, Computer Architecture, microprocessor, Digital circuit and system. To do so, I referred Test ur C skills, Test ur c++ skills, Data structure by Tanenbaum, Cormen (algorithms), Os by galvin, and DBMS by korth. |
GD, PI Preparation: | There was no particular preparation put in for Group Discussion |
Eligibility criteria and students appeared: | The GPA criteria set by ST Ericsson was 70% and fortunately, I was one of the good scorers with the required marks. |
The Written round: | The Written round mainly had aptitude questions. There were no verbal/personality development questions. |
The Interview: | This was followed by the interview. Here I was faced with a volley of technical questions that ranged from Data Structures and Computer architecture to Operating System based questions. Also there were certain typical HR questions like:
“Why this company?” “Where do you see yourself five years from now?” “What are your weaknesses?” |
Role of Internships and extracurricular activities: | I felt that there was no particularly grand role played by past internships. It depends on the interviewer’s mood though. He does ask in detail about the training if you mention it. And it gives you a sense of confidence when you speak about it.
Also when it comes to Extra Curricular activities, a core technical company doesn’t pay much attention to them, but others surely do. |
