About Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, Rajasthan
Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur, Rajasthan, was established in 1963 by the joint collaboration of Government of India and Government of Rajasthan. In 2002, the institute has acquired the status of a Deemed University. Since 2007, MNIT Jaipur has been known as the Centre of Excellence. The institute imparts various engineering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. All these programmes of the institute are conducted as per the strict norms of NIT Council. The administrative and management issues of the institute managed by The Malviya National Institute of Technology Society. MNIT Jaipur provides state-of-the-art infrastructure within its sprawling campus.

Campus
Extending into an area of over 312 acres of lush greenery, the campus of the Institute is imaginatively laid-out with a picturesque landscape. It presents a spectacle of harmony in modern architecture, and natural beauty which enthralls and inspires.
Indeed, all the states and union territories of the country are represented in the undergraduate intake of the Institute(50% from Rajasthan & the other 50% from all States & Union Territories of India), thus making it a perfect example of the celebrated axiom, unity in diversity. The institute is actively engaged in research, consultancy and development activities and collaborates with leading industrial houses and IT companies in various projects.
The campus provides all essential amenities for community living like staff clubs, hospital, banks, post office, community centre, school, staff residences, gymnasium, playing fields, guest houses, canteen etc.
Education System
The Institute is deemed to be university and awards its own degree. The semester scheme is followed for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The academic performance of a student is graded on a ten-point scale, the letter grades awarded to a student in all the courses (except audit courses) are converted into a semester and cumulative performance index called the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) respectively.
A system of feedback by the students about the instructor and the course is also in practice.
New Initiatives
The education system has been revamped in line with those practiced in the best Institutes of the world. For Ph.D. programme, coursework concept has been introduced to ensure better quality of research. New post graduate courses have been introduced and a large number of electives have been introduced to enable students to have a wider choice of subjects from inter-disciplinary areas. Courses specific to management, communication techniques and computer-aided design and programming have been introduced to keep pace with changing times. Curriculum workshops are being organized for upgrading UG and PG schemes.
The campus area has been organized in three functional sectors :
- Instructional Buildings
- Central Facilities
- Students Hostels
- Staff Colony
The instructional buildings include departments, Central Library and administrative block and are at a walking distance from the students hostels and staff colony.
The instructional buildings have been so located that these are fairly near to both the hostels and the staff quarters and are at a walking distance from both. There is a branch of The Bank of Rajasthan Ltd. on the premises and a Post-office in the campus. A full-fledged dispensary is supervised by a team of Medical Officers and two Compounders. The Institute has also been extending facility of a Part-time Homeopathic doctor and Ayurvedic doctor in the campus. Adequately equipped Canteen buildings, one near the instructional zone and another near the hostels provide facilities to the students and the staff during and beyond the working hours of the Institute.

One canteen near the instructional zone, another near the hostels and one Nescafe coffee shop provides refreshments to the students and the staff during and beyond the working hours.
Guest Houses
There are two guest houses in the campus to cater the needs of guests and students.
Sports
Adequate facilities are available for sports and games and for co- curricular activities.
The campus is well laid out with roads, electrical installations, water supply and underground drainage system etc.
Banks
There is a branch of the Bank of Rajasthan Limited and a Post-Office in the campus. Other reputed banks such as SBI, ICICI, PNB etc. are within walking distance from the institute campus.
Medical Facilities
A full-fledged Dispensary is available in the campus. It is supervised by a residential Medical Officer. The services of a part-time Homeopathy Doctor and a Lady Doctor are also available to students and to the family members of the staff.
