North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) – was established under the act of Parliament on 19 July 1973. The University is located in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. The University has two campuses, Shillong(main campus) and Tura in Meghalaya. NEHU has initiated the establishment of its 3rd campus at Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills District. The University has 44 departments and 2 centres of study under eight Schools. NEHU Central Library has nearly 300,000 volume and 40,000 bound periodicals.
