Pranav Agarwal
| Name: | Pranav Agarwal |
| Course: | BE in Electronics and Communication |
| College: | DCE |
| Year: | 2010 |
| Company: | Deloitte |
| Package offered: | 5.22LPA |
| Preparations: | There were many of my friends of my friends who had been preparing for ages for the placements. I prepared for about 2 months. |
| Books Reffered: | That too I mainly focused on my programming languages like C and C++ and course subjects like Digital programming. For these I referred Yashwant Kanetkar. |
| Websites Reffered: | For any other help, I simply Googled it! |
| GD, PI Preparations: | I also tried to practice upon case studies by discussing in groups; this also enhanced my GD skills. |
| Eligibility criteria and students appeared: | Deloitte had kept cut off as 65% and I was one of the lucky 250 students to have been eligible to appear in the Deloitte placement session. |
| The Written round: | The paper had almost no technical questions. They had more of verbal and aptitude questions. I do not remember all of them but a few. There was one logic based set, one RC (reading comprehension). Also there were easy math questions based on algebra, geometry, time speed n distance. |
| The Group Discussion Round: | I thankfully qualified for the next round that was the group discussion. There were 8 students to each discussion. We were asked to discuss on case study regarding entry of a company in a new market. For this, we were given about 30 minutes. We were told be confident and terse by the interviewer. And as you might have guessed, I cleared this too. |
| The Interview: | The interview round next had HR questions mainly. Tell me about yourself?, Your internship?, Strength?, Weakness?, Why do you want to join that company? and like that. Although I was asked about the internship, but I dont think that played any major role in my placement. |
| Role of Internships and extracurricular activities: | I would like to point out one more thing: Extracurricular activities. They are important. If you have certain leadership qualities or exceptional sports talent then always point them out. They do prove to be a plus point. For example, of my fellow mate was head of some plays during college fests , so in the interview he was asked about dramatics.
Be confident, thats it. |
