University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) was founded in the year 2011. It is located in Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya, India. USTM offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines. USTM Admission Process
The admission in the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya in UG and PG courses shall be based on Merit (percentage secured in last qualifying examination) and Personal Interview. However, in a few courses admission may be done through an Entrance Test (25% weightage), the result of qualifying Examination (50% weightage) and Interview (25% Marks). For admission in Ph.D. program candidates having minimum qualifying marks must clear the Entrance Test and Interview.
For the MBA program, admission shall be based on written test (USTM-CAT) followed by personal interview (PI) and Group discussion (GD). Candidates having valid scorecards of CAT/MAT/XMAT, etc. will be exempted from USTM-CAT and such candidate may directly appear for PI and GD. The application form for admission is made available online and offline mode. Desired candidates are advised to submit the form in the prescribed format along with application fee on or before the last date. The application fee is non-refundable and no correspondence on this subject will be entertained.

- School of Applied Sciences – The School of Applied Sciences endeavors to impart education on fundamentals of science so that students can well appreciate the intricacies of day to day problems.
- School of Biological Sciences – The main objective of the School is to become the pioneer of modern interdisciplinary biological sciences by integrating emerging disciplines with biological sciences. The School of Biological Sciences aspires to excel in research and teaching.
- School of Social Sciences & Humanities – The School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSSH) has been established with the objectives of inculcating a scientific temper and enhancing technical knowledge with human and social values. It envisions to develop a hub of teaching and research having a global impact through superb and finest programs.
- School of Engineering Technology – The School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) envisages ushering a new era of technical education in the North-Eastern part of India and proposes to introduce several courses and programs. Effective linkages with industry as well as developmental agencies will be established from time to time and accordingly, many short terms vocational/ occupational courses will be introduced to impart skill-based training to the educated unemployed youths.
- School of Business Sciences – Approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The main objective of SBUS is to provide quality education and cater to the dynamic needs of the corporate world through the following departments.
- Prof Qoumrul Hoque School of Education – Dedicated in the name of Prof. Quomrul Hoque, the renowned academician, an educationist from Barak Valley whose untimely death created an indelible void in the education scenario of North East, Prof. Qoumrul Hoque School of Education at USTM was introduced in the year 2014. Also, the school offers Ph.D in Education under adept guidance of expert educationists.
- University School of Law & Research – The University School of Law and Research is a fresh initiative of USTM to impart quality education in the legal discipline in the region. The basic aim of the school is to impart quality education in law as a developing discipline, thus, satisfying the requirement of legal aspirant of the region. The comprehensive program aims at clarifying the basic legal concepts of the students. The internship program is aimed at providing practical education to the students while research spirit aims at innovation and contribution to the field.
- School of Allied Medical Sciences – USTM, Institute of Physiotherapy is one of the esteemed Institutes in the field of Physiotherapy which was established in 2017, in the state of Meghalaya. The USTM Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation train efficient professionals in the art of relieving human pain and suffering, using the evidence-based practice in the field of physiotherapy, latest skill and instruments coming from the most advanced centers of quality production. The Institute has attained the status of a Centre of Excellence by introducing Post Graduate course of MSc Sports Physiotherapy.
