Goa University – was established in the year 1985 under the Goa University Act of 1984 and commenced operation on June 01, 1985. The University is located on Taleigao Plateau. Goa University campus is spread over 427.49 acres. Goa University provides higher education in the Indian state Goa. Since 1985 the university is offering graduate and post-graduate studies and research programmes. Goa University is currently (2014-19) accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in India with grade A. Past 30 year the university has expanded its reach in term of the number of affiliated colleges – professional and general education numbering to 56.
