Magadh University is a state university located in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India. Magadh University takes its name from the ancient Indian kingdom of MAGADH. It was established in 1962 by Satyendra Narayan Sinha, an educationist and the then Education Minister of Bihar. K. K. Dutta, a renowned historian, was the founder vice-chancellor. Magadh University started functioning from 2 March 1962 with two constituent colleges, 32 affiliated colleges.It is the largest university of Bihar situated in a sprawling campus of 460 acres of land enjoying the spiritual breeze of the Bodhi Tree which enlightened Lord Buddha.
