MG University Admission Process
The admission in Mahatma Gandhi University is based on the rank list prepared based on marks/grade obtained in the qualifying examination. Mahatma Gandhi University introduced the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) in the academic year 2010-2011. Initially, admissions to PG programs alone were managed through CAP, but later it was extended to UG Programmes as well. Interested candidates must register for admissions to various courses online on or before the last date stipulated in the admission schedule.

- School of Behavioural Sciences – School of Behavioural Sciences established in the year 1988 has a variety of unique higher education programs aimed at developing human resources in the field of disability rehabilitation and mental health for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society.
- School of Bio-Sciences – The School of Biosciences had its beginning as School of Basic Medical Sciences in 1983 by utilizing the faculty and infrastructure of Medical College Hospital, Kottayam. In 1990, the School was renamed as School of Biosciences.
- School of Chemical Sciences – The School of Chemical Sciences is one among the initial statutory departments of Mahatma Gandhi University (erstwhile Gandhiji University). The academic programs of the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS) were initiated from the very inception of the University. At present, the school offers four different M.Sc. programs along with M.Phil, M.Tech and PhD programs covering all branches of chemistry and polymer science.
- School of Computer Sciences – Mahatma Gandhi University established School of Computer Sciences in the year 1990. The first program offered by the School, MSc in Computer Science was started in the year 1993. Currently, the School offers a second level M.Sc program in Computer Science, an M.Phil program in Computer Science and PhD
- School of Distance Education – The School of Distance Education was established in the year 1989 and commenced its activities in the year 1990.
- School of Environmental Sciences – The University has established the School of Environmental Sciences (SES) in the year 1995 as a Centre of learning for advanced studies in different branches of environmental science. The school has established a Centralized Remote Sensing and GIS facility with the support of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
- School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies – The School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies was set up in the year 1983 as one of the founding departments of MG University. The School started the MA program in Gandhian Studies employing the services of part-time faculty in 1984.
- School of International Relations and Politics – The School of International Relations and Politics was established on 2 October 1983 as one of the founding academic departments of the Mahatma Gandhi University.
- School of Indian Legal Thought – School of Indian Legal Thought was established in the year 1989. The Five Year BBA.LL.B (Hons) course offered by the School.
- School of Letters – School of Letters is the interdisciplinary Department of Literature and Fine arts of Mahatma Gandhi University and was established in the year 1988.
- School of Management & Business Studies – School of Management and Business Studies is a regular statutory Department for Management Studies in Mahatma Gandhi University and had a humble beginning on March 25, 1999, with a two year full-time MBA program.
- School of Pure and Applied Physics – The School of Pure and Applied Physics (formerly the Material Science department) is one of the departments that started along with the establishment of the Mahatma Gandhi University in the year 1983. The school comprises more than 20 researchers covering a wide area of research including biophysics, astrophysics, advanced materials, solar physics, Optoelectronics, photonic and crystalline materials, sol-gel optics, ultrafast and attosecond science.
- School of Pedagogical Sciences – The School of Pedagogical Sciences was started in the year 1992. The school offers PhD, MPhil, MEd, BEd (self-financing).
- School of Social Sciences – The School of Social Sciences (SSS) was established in October 1989.
- School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – This school was inception in the year 1983. It is better known as a Sports University for its highest achievements both in national and international levels of Sports and Games.
- School of Tourism Studies – The School of Tourism Studies was established in the year 2010. The objective of the School is to generate skilled personnel with a broad range of applied, technical, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills in tourism leadership.
