Uttarakhand is a state in the Northern Part of India. It is also referred to as Devbhumi. Dehradun is the capital of the state. Dehradun is also known as school capital of India. According to Census 2011, the literacy rate of the state was 79.63 %. The male literacy rate is 88.33% and 70.7.% of Female. There are 15,331 primary schools and 22,118 working teachers (the year 2011). The language of instructions in the schools is Hindi and English. The state is emerging as an educational hub.
